Cookie Policy

The short version: we set four cookies. Three sign you in and keep you signed in, and one remembers your language. We use none for analytics, advertising or tracking, which is why you have never seen a consent banner here.
The cookies we set
All four are first-party, all four are strictly necessary or set because you asked for them, and none of them follow you anywhere.

In production all four are sent over HTTPS only, and none of them can be read by JavaScript. Over HTTPS your browser also shows the three sign-in cookies with a __Secure- prefix, so the first one appears as __Secure-invoice_app.session_token.
What we do not set
To be completely clear, none of the following exist on BillTheBill:
- Analytics cookies. We do use analytics — PostHog — but it is configured to write nothing to your device at all.
- Advertising cookies. We do not run ads or work with any ad network.
- Third-party trackers. No tracking pixels, no social media buttons, no cross-site tracking.
Cookies that are strictly necessary for a service you have asked for do not require consent, and a language cookie you set yourself is in the same category. That is the whole reason there is no cookie banner — not a loophole, just a short list.
Managing them
You can view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Deleting ours signs you out and forgets your language choice; blocking them stops sign-in working at all, because there is no other way for us to know it is you.
If this changes
If we ever introduce a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we will update this page and ask for your consent before setting it — in that order.
